Ceiling heating

Heating with ceilings is the most efficient and most performant solution, because instead of air, the system is using water for the transfer of energy. The volume of water in the capillary tubes is very small (0,3 liter/sqm). The efficiency of operation with water is 4 times higher than the efficiency of heating systems with air. Because of thin mats, there is a very economical solution, not only due to economy of space, but because of high energy efficiency radiation.

From the structural point of view in the majority of cases we have either concrete monolith ceiling structure or a light structure, finished with gypsum boards. In the first case plastic capillary tubing mats through which water flows, can be integrated in the finishing layer (gypsum, cement, etc.). Because of the high thermal storage coefficient of the monolith concrete, it is necessary to insulate the capillary tube mats from the raw ceiling – insulation can be synthetic: polystyrene; natural: fiberboard and the most efficient insulation in this case should be air.

The majority of cases can be solved with the application of a gypsum board on the structure of the ceiling. Gypsum boards will be fixed through steel profiles to the surface of the ceiling and the air layer will act as insulation.

Capillary tube mats can be custom‐made in almost any dimensions and mat types. They have such a high degree of flexibility that they can be easily adapted even to vaulted surfaces or individual ceiling designs. The integration of cut‐outs in the mat for installation parts such as lamps, air ducts, fire extinguishers etc. is very simple. Capillary tube mats offer architects and planners practically unlimited freedom with regard to design and layout.
