Buildings with a lightweight structure

Buildings with a lightweight structure

In buildings, which are made of lightweight metal or wooden structures, the integration of the hoods into the construction elements, which delimit the room, is particularly simple and efficient.

In some cases, with certain prefabricated panel technologies, from which lightweight buildings are constructed, the capillaries can be integrated into ceilings, floors or even walls, and under workshop conditions, with the structural elements being finished and then assembled on site.

The advantage of capillaries in lightweight building applications is that technical elements are totally invisible/hidden.
The heating-cooling system with capillary mats has a particularly low construction height and can therefore be fully integrated into room boundary structures (floors, ceilings and walls).

In the capillary system – capillary mats are permanently invisible, even when they are covered only with a thin layer of plaster.
The change in colour of the plaster surface, the so-called copper shadows (which frequently occur when metal pipes are installed in walls), do not occur with capillary tubes made of polypropylene.

The maximum flexibility of capillary mats helps fabricators of lightweight buildings to design any shape of surface, rectangular, circular, boxy, with hulls or niches, because the capillary system is delivered to order in almost any size and with any type of mat. Capillary mats have such a high degree of flexibility that they can be easily adapted even to curved surfaces (vaults) or special types of ceilings.

It is possible to integrate voids in carpets for easy installation of lighting fixtures, air ducts, ventilation grilles, sensors, cables, etc. The capillary tube system offers architects and designers virtually unlimited freedom of design and layout.

Not only capillary mats, but the entire capillary system requires considerably less space than conventional systems. This becomes obvious when comparisons are made with conventional ventilation and air conditioning systems. Heating and cooling systems with capillary mats are fast reacting, which is a particular advantage in building structures with low wall mass.

As these building structures do not have a large thermal energy storage capacity, with the help of digital automation, capillary heating and cooling systems can be designed to respond immediately and permanently to thermal energy requirements.

Capillaries are ideal solutions for buildings with multi-layered walls, walls with ventilated facades, energy optimisation works, renovation works, both in the industrial field and in office buildings, villas, hospitals, hotels, residential houses, or special purpose buildings.
